It's amazing all the beauty right where I live (South Florida) and wonderful activities available to me. Today I signed up for a class at the local UF/IFAS Extension Building to create a pot and learn about local pollinating plants. The presenter mentioned this was the first time they were offering the class, and I do have to say that it was wonderful!

The presentation provided lots of resources on where you could get seedlings or find more information on pollinating plants. It talked about how to support our pollinator friends, and why that was so important. It was very informative, and the presenter was very knowledgeable. One of my favorite parts was getting to walk through their beautiful garden! If you would like to see pictures, you can head on over to my Facebook page. While you are there, you can also watch a video of me putting my pollinating plant pot together :)

We finished up the class outside, where we were supported in creating our pollinating plant pots. We were provided with large biodegradable pots and all the supplies that we would need. The instructor helped walk us through filling the pot with soil, adding fertilizer, and how to add the plants. We were provided with a variety of plants that we could choose from, giving us creative freedom with our arrangements. I enjoyed this activity with both my sister and mother in law. I would highly recommend the class to others in our area :)
As I mentioned earlier, you can head on over to my Facebook page to see more pictures of the garden, or watch of video of how I arranged this pot for my pollinator friends!
